The Department of General and Applied Ethics at the Faculty of Arts Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra is the oldest Department focused on ethics and its practical applications in Slovakia. The educational and scientific research profile of the Department responds to the challenges of contemporary society.
History of the Department
The Department of General and Applied Ethics has been known under this name since 2006. Before then, the Department had undergone several structural changes. The origin of the Department dates back to 1991 when the Department of Philosophical and Christian Anthropology was established. It was renamed Department of Ethics and Social Sciences in 1992 and subsequently Department of Ethics and Catechetics in 1998. Since 2006, it has established itself under the present name as a prospective department of the Faculty of Arts of the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra.
Sustainability of the Department
