Graduates of the bachelor study programme in Ethics are able to analyse and solve ethical issues at the level of mastering the theoretical foundations of history of ethics and philosophy, basic knowledge of general and applied ethics as well as of ethics education. Graduates are capable to correctly recognize the position of ethics and human values in the life of a human person and to make a decision in situations of moral conflicts in everyday life. Graduates master the basics of psychology, sociology, culture theory and communication techniques. They know the main trends of contemporary theoretical, philosophical and applied ethics.
Graduates of the study programme in Ethics (BA) are able to manage moral conflicts within the framework of professional ethics, to communicate morally correctly, to apply principles of empathy and assertive behaviour in everyday working relation in the exercise of their profession, to have an overview of ethical and legal aspects of the relationship between specialist and client, and to communicate at least in one world language.
Graduates of study programme in Ethics (BA) are familiar with axiology within the range of basic theoretical knowledge of values, evaluation and value systems. A part of the requirements for successfully completing the bachelor’s degree is to pass an examination of the core courses as well as the pedagogical-psychological applicative units.
Employment Qualifications of Graduates
Graduates of the study programme in Ethics (BA) can work in both the public and private sectors, including civil service and educational institutions. They can effectively handle situations related to the application of ethical principles into the exercise of a given profession. Graduates are able to explain the basic ethical problems to various types of audience and to suggest possible ways of solving them. They are able to work effectively as part of the team in the preparation of a code of ethics within the profession (e.g. in insurance business, banking and offices of various types such as tax office). Graduates are capable of well-considered organisation of further education in ethics and related disciplines. A continuation of professional development is expected. Graduates of the study programme in Ethics (BA) are able to follow new findings and trends in related disciplines. At the same time they can analyse and solve ethical issues at the level of mastering the theoretical foundations of history of ethics and philosophy, basic knowledge of general and applied ethics as well as of ethics education.
